I am a London-based native UK English freelance proofreader and copyeditor.

I am passionate about what I do and always enjoy a challenge. I am meticulous and thorough in my work, and I have a good eye for detail. My overriding principle is to offer a first-class service to my clients, to understand and fulfil their requirements; and I will always go the extra mile to ensure this.

About me

Friendly, efficient, and reliable

Prior to embarking on freelance proofreading and copyediting, I worked in the travel industry for over twenty-five years and established a travel business with my husband. My corporate experience encompassed all aspects of operating a business. I was wholly involved in sales, marketing, administration, accounts, producing holiday brochures, and with the advent of the Internet, setting up a website.

It was during those years of copious brochure production that a love of editing and proofreading came to the fore – I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process – from the initial stages of design, copywriting, copy-editing, right down to proofreading the end product. I have, therefore, been informally proofreading and copyediting for a long time! In addition, the nature of the travel business requires the utmost accuracy – on all types of documentation. It is vitally important for details to be checked and double-checked; therefore, precision becomes second nature.

Wide-ranging subjects

I am happy to proofread/copyedit material ranging from books to websites to blogs in a wide variety of subjects – with the exception of science and mathematics. I enjoy the formality of non-fiction books and academic/educational texts, and the informality of popular fiction and blogs. I also have experience in writing newsletters on a number of different topics.

I have CIEP training in paper-based and on-screen proofreading/editing techniques, including knowledge/use of BSI symbols, proofreading theses and dissertations, and editing fiction.
